Japanese Head Spa Near Seminole, FL
Head spa is still a rare category on the Gulf Coast. What to look for when choosing one near Seminole, St. Petersburg or Largo, and what to expect at Aurea.
Head spa arrived in Japan decades ago and in the United States very recently. On Florida's Gulf Coast, the number of places offering a genuine one is still small.
That scarcity makes choosing harder than it should be, because "head spa" is now appearing on menus where it means a slightly longer shampoo. Here is how to tell the difference.
What to look for
A dedicated appointment, not an add-on. If the head spa is offered as an extra alongside a haircut, it is a wash. A real head spa occupies the whole booking.
Length in the 30-to-120 minute range. Anything under twenty minutes is not the treatment, regardless of what it is called.
A private or genuinely quiet room. The relaxation is the product. A busy salon floor undermines it no matter how good the technique is.
Clarity about what it is not. Anywhere promising to cure hair loss or treat a scalp condition is overreaching. A head spa is wellness and relaxation. That is enough.
Getting here
Aurea Wellness Spa is in Seminole, Florida, in central Pinellas County. That puts us within a short drive of:
- St. Petersburg
- Largo
- Pinellas Park
- Clearwater
- Madeira Beach, Redington and Indian Rocks Beach
Parking is free and on site, which on this stretch of the coast is not a small thing.
What a first visit looks like here
New guests can book the First Visit Mental Reset Experience — 60 minutes at $99 instead of $129. It includes a scalp consultation, the deep cleansing ritual, warm steam and a facial massage, and it exists so that nobody has to commit to the full menu before knowing whether they like the treatment.
If you already know you want the complete ritual, the 60-minute Japanese Head Spa at $149 is the one most guests choose.
A $25 deposit confirms any booking and comes off the price of your service. Cancel or reschedule with 24 hours' notice and it is fully refundable.

We also offer facials, lash extensions and lifts and brow shaping and lamination — the same unhurried approach, applied elsewhere.
Guests often pair a head spa with a facial when they want the appointment to be the whole afternoon rather than a stop in it.
Before you book
Two things worth knowing.
Your hair will be washed, so plan accordingly if you are heading somewhere straight after — we dry and style it softly, but this is not a blowout.
And give yourself a few minutes on either side. Arriving flustered and leaving in a rush takes something away from an hour designed around the opposite.
