Classic vs. Hybrid vs. Volume Lashes
Three lash sets, three very different results. A plain explanation of what separates classic, hybrid and volume extensions, and which one suits you.
The three names describe how many extensions are attached to each of your natural lashes. That is the whole distinction — everything else follows from it.
Classic
One extension per natural lash. The most natural of the three.
Classic gives you length and definition without obvious density. From a short distance it reads as your own lashes on a very good day. This is the set for people who want to skip mascara, not to look like they are wearing more of it.

Hybrid
A mix of classic and volume fans. The middle option, and the one most people end up preferring.
Hybrid gives texture — some lashes defined, some fuller — which produces a slightly fluffy, less uniform look. It suits sparser natural lashes particularly well, because the fans fill gaps that classic would leave visible.
About two hours fifteen. $135.
Volume
Multiple lightweight extensions fanned onto each natural lash. The fullest, most dramatic set.
Volume is unmistakably lash extensions, and that is the point. The individual extensions are much finer than classic ones, so the weight stays manageable even though the effect is far denser.
Two and a half hours. $160.
How to choose
Ask yourself what you want people to notice.
- Nothing in particular, just that you look rested → classic
- That your lashes look good, without knowing why → hybrid
- Your lashes → volume
If you are still undecided, start with hybrid. It is the easiest to like and the easiest to adjust from.
Keeping them
Extensions fall out as your natural lashes shed, which is normal and constant. A fill every two to three weeks restores the set.
At Aurea, hybrid fills are $80 and volume fills are $95, both 90 minutes. Professional removal is $25 — worth doing properly rather than pulling at them, which is where most natural-lash damage actually comes from.

Questions guests ask
- How long do lash extensions last?
- A full set lasts through your natural lash cycle. Most guests come in for a fill every two to three weeks to keep the set looking complete.
- Do extensions damage your natural lashes?
- Applied correctly — one extension per natural lash, at a weight that lash can carry — they should not. Damage usually comes from sets that are too heavy or from picking at them.
- Can I switch between styles?
- Yes. Many guests start classic and move to hybrid later, or go volume for an event and return to something lighter afterwards.
